Before cleaning, make sure to remove all sensitive electronics around and below the mini split evaporator. Make sure the air conditioner is powered off. Shut off the breaker and make sure there is no electricity to the evaporator. Remove the air filters and plastic cover of the air conditioner to gain access to the evaporator coil.Remove the plastic Mini Split Cleaning Cover from the packaging and unfold it completely. Locate the black wheel lock and pull on the elastic drawstring gently to resize the Cleaning Cover for your mini split. If the drawstring becomes difficult to pull, you may need to loosen the plastic folds around the perimeter of the drawstring. Install Cleaning Cover: Once approximately sized, install the Mini Split Cleaning Cover onto the air conditioner evaporator. Hold the wheel lock and pull on the drawstring so that the cover fits tightly around the evaporator. NOTE: Pay close attention to make sure there are no gaps where water may leak out between the air conditioner and bag. Cover Exposed Electronics: Identify any exposed electronics and cover them with plastic (not included). Make sure that no chemical or water overspray touches the exposed electronics. Bucket Placement: Unfold the collapsible bucket under the mini split and position the Cleaning Cover hose into the bucket. The Cleaning Cover hose can be trimmed to a length that will allow the water to leave the hose and enter the bucket.Inspect the water faucet that you will use. Hose Adapter Connection: If your faucet is equipped with an adapter, this will need to be removed. Then, using the included set of faucet adapters, select the appropriate size adapter to use in place of your adapter. We have included a selection of gaskets to prevent this connection from leaking. Select the appropriate gasket(s) for your application. Connect the water hose to the faucet. If your adapter is non-removable, we have included a compression style adapter. Not all faucet outlets will be compatible with this compression style adapter. When using the compression style adapter, BE SURE THE CONNECTION IS SECURE AND WILL NOT SLIP OFF OF THE FAUCET WHEN THE HOSE IS PRESSURIZED. Leak Test: Connect the water hose securely to the Spray Gun. Turn on the water faucet and allow water to completely fill the hose. Depress the Spray Gun trigger into the sink and check for any leaks.Shake the Foam Blaster can vigorously. Application to Evaporator: Spray the Foam Blaster onto the air conditioner evaporator coil. Completely cover the evaporator coil with foam. Additionally, spray the Foam Blaster to cover as much of the blower wheel as possible. Let the Foam Blaster cleaner penetrate the evaporator coil and blower wheel for 10 to 15 minutes. During this time, you will notice the foam slowly converting into a liquid state. This will allow the cleaner to absorb into and emulsify the dirt and debris. Air Filter Cleaning: Using pressurized water in a separate location such as a sink, laundry bin or bathtub, spray the plastic air filters from an inside out or back to front direction. This will prevent the dirt from being forced through the air filter screen.Use the Spray Gun and Wand/Nozzle to completely rinse and remove the dirt and cleaner from the mini split. For best results, rinse from the bottom to the top. CAUTION: Pay special attention to NOT wet any electronics. Hard to Reach Areas: Use the extension wand to go above and behind the evaporator coil to clean hard to reach areas. Blower Cleaning: Use the extension wand to spray into the blower fan and rinse off any dust and dirt. Some machines may be equipped with removable drain pans or screens in front of or behind the louvers. If you have these options and if possible, we recommend removing these devices for better cleaning access to the blower. Drain Pan Cleaning: Spray into the drain pan to remove any dirt and grime. If the drain is clogged and accessible, you may need to spray directly into the drain to unclog it. If possible, uninstall the drain pan from the air conditioner for a deeper cleaning.Locate the area of the drain pan farthest from the drain. Cut the Flow Tab to fit it into the drain pan. One complete Flow Tab is good to treat systems up to 3 Tons for 3 Months.
